Push-Pull Micro Planar Magnetic Driver “Ortho”
“Ortho” is a micro planar magnetic driver developed by MADOO. Planar drivers employ two drive methods: “push-pull drive” and “single drive.” “Ortho” utilizes the push-pull drive method. While this configuration is notoriously difficult to miniaturize sufficiently for in-ear headphones due to its complex assembly, skilled engineers have successfully developed a high-quality push-pull planar driver that fits within the earpiece.
The tuning applied to the Typ622 further unlocks the potential of the “Ortho,” which excels at delivering a wide range of expression—from powerful mid-to-low frequencies to brilliant and delicate high frequencies.

High-rigid housing
In order to increase reliability and maximize performance, we have adopted the unique housing architecture "MIAA: MADOO In-ear Acoustic Architecture" from previous models. All products will be developed based on this architecture.
We call the part that stores the driver an acoustic box. This acoustic box is manufactured using a 3D printing process and has a complex acoustic circuit called Schematic Design. By using precision resin for 3D printed parts and thorough pre-cure and post-cure hardening processes during the manufacturing process, we have made it possible to manufacture highly precise parts controlled at the 5μm level. This allows quality to be strictly controlled, suppressing individual differences during manufacturing, and allowing users to enjoy the sound quality as intended in the design.

Sapphire crystal combining beauty and functionality
Based on the concept of “earphones built to last for years,” the design draws inspiration from submarine hatches and watch windows. The window material utilizes sapphire crystal, boasting a Mohs hardness of 9, delivering heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and exceptional durability unattainable with ordinary glass or plastic. The air gap created by the window functions to control the back pressure on the speaker unit, maximizing driver performance. Furthermore, the gold color design, expressing the “rich, deep sound” characteristic of the Typ622, maintains the octagonal design common to the MADOO second-generation lineup while creating an entirely new aesthetic.

Optimized shape derived from 300 ear impressions
MADOO designs and develops its products based on the “Asian ear,” focusing on the main markets for Hi-Fi earphones: Japan, Hong Kong, China, and South Korea. Based on ear impression data collected from 300 individuals across Asia over approximately three years, we engineered an exceptional housing design that achieves both a premium fit and aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, to accommodate the elliptical shape common to human ear canals, we adopted an elliptical stem design. This natural fit minimizes sound loss, delivering the pure MADOO sound experience.

Custom cables by Acoustune
The included earphone cable features a 4-core silver-coated copper wire cable, developed under the supervision of our sister brand, Acoustune. The silver coating reduces sound quality loss, allowing the earphones to deliver their full potential. The connector section employs the high-fidelity, high-reliability “Pentaconn Ear” connector, designed and manufactured by Nippon Dicks Co., Ltd. Compared to conventional MMCX connectors, the plug and socket make tighter contact, resulting in superior conductivity while also balancing ease of connection/disconnection with robustness. The product comes standard with two cables: the “MRC011 (3.5mm 3-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug)” and the “MRC023 (4.4mm 5-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug)”.
※The Gold & Red models include the “MRC041 (3.5mm 3-pin L-shaped gold-plated plug)” and the “MRC053 (4.4mm 5-pin L-shaped gold-plated plug)”.
