Push-pull type microplanar magnetic driver “Ortho” 

“Typ821” is equipped with a completely newly developed micro-planar magnetic driver “Ortho”. There are two types of planar drivers: push-pull drive type and single drive type. "Ortho" uses a push-pull type. The diaphragm is driven in a well-balanced manner by the use of five magnets placed opposite each other on the front and back of an ultra-thin, lightweight diaphragm with coils printed on the μm order.  

The push-pull drive type drives the diaphragm as if it is sandwiched between front and rear magnets, resulting in a driver with good response. Therefore, it is a driver with excellent sound character that expresses sparkling and delicate high frequencies and powerful bass. However, since it uses many small and powerful magnets, it is difficult to integrate it, and it has been difficult to make it smaller and lighter for use in earphones. For this reason, cases used for large products such as high-end headphones have traditionally been the mainstream. In the newly developed "Ortho", experienced dynamic driver engineers have gone through trial and error to create a high-quality push-pull driver that can be used in an earphone size.  

Housing architecture "MIAA" and highly precisely managed schematic design

In order to increase reliability and maximize performance, we have adopted the unique housing architecture "MIAA: MADOO In-ear Acoustic Architecture" from previous models. All products will be developed based on this architecture.  

We call the part that stores the driver an acoustic box. This acoustic box is manufactured using a 3D printing process and has a complex acoustic circuit called Schematic Design. By using precision resin for 3D printed parts and thorough pre-cure and post-cure hardening processes during the manufacturing process, we have made it possible to manufacture highly precise parts controlled at the 5μm level. This allows quality to be strictly controlled, suppressing individual differences during manufacturing, and allowing users to enjoy the sound quality as intended in the design.

Combines beauty and functionalitysapphire crystal

MADOO's design concept is inspired by submarines and clock windows. This is due to the concept of earphones that can be used for many years. We searched for a suitable material for windows and came across sapphire crystal.  

Sapphire crystal is more transparent and more beautiful than glass or plastic, and is a material used in high-end watches. With a Mohs hardness of 9, it is extremely scratch resistant and has high heat resistance. Given the concept of earphones that will be used for many years, we thought that the optimal material would be heat and corrosion resistance that cannot be obtained with glass or plastic materials. In addition, in terms of functionality, the structure is designed to bring out the performance of the speaker units by controlling the back pressure of the speaker units using the air gap system provided in the window.  

The window design of the ``Typ821'' has been redesigned as a second-generation model compared to the existing model. As the 800 series model number suggests, it features an impressive 8 screws, creating a new design for MADOO that is more reminiscent of the original concept of a submarine window.

Optimized shape derived from ear impressions of 300 people

According to international standards, European and American ears are mainly considered to be the base design for ears, but they are much larger than Asian ears, which often causes problems with fitting. On the other hand, the actual main market for high-end earphones is centered on Asia such as Japan, China, and South Korea. Focusing on this, we collected ear molds from 300 men from these regions over a period of about three years, and based on this we derived the optimal shape. In "Typ821", the shape of the housing has been improved to reflect the ear impressions of 100 people over the course of one year. This has resulted in a housing that combines an even higher quality fit and design. In addition, the stem uses an elliptical stem like the previous model. Since most people have an oval shape, they fit into the ear canal for a natural fit and provide transmission without losing MADOO's sound design.

The earphone cable uses a 2-core 4-core cable made of silver-coated copper wire by Acoustune, a brother brand.

The cable reduces sound quality loss and ensures the performance of the earphones. The connector section uses the new IEM connector "Pentaconn Ear" designed and produced by Nippon Dicks Co., Ltd., which boasts high sound quality and high reliability. Compared to traditional MMCX connectors, the plug and socket parts are in closer contact, providing superior conduction performance. It also achieves both ease of attachment and detachment and robustness.  

This product comes with two cables as standard: "MRC011" with a 3.5mm 3-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug and "MRC023" with a 4.4mm 5-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug.
