Large-Diameter & Passive Radiator-Equipped “Ortho Dual Motion” Driver

The Ortho Dual Motion driver in the ‘Typ930’ features a larger 12mm diameter (up from the 10mm diameter used in the ‘Typ821’), paired with a more powerful magnet to improve the magnetic circuit. Additionally, it incorporates the new passive radiator technology “Dual Motion” for the first time. Composed of a dome molded from thin-film engineering plastic and a brass mass damper, the passive radiator adjusts pressure to effectively manage pressure within the ear canal. This reduces a feeling of blockage and unpleasant resonance, delivering a spacious soundstage. The speaker housing combines brass and stainless steel materials, and the passive radiator is visible through the sapphire crystal faceplate.

Hybrid configuration using a spoutless BA driver

The ‘Typ930’ features a Knowles spoutless BA driver in addition to the Ortho Dual Motion driver. This driver functions as a super tweeter, handling the frequency range that imparts a sense of openness to the overall sound. Both drivers have impedances optimized to be close to each other, with the network circuitry also optimized. Internal wiring uses silver-plated high-purity copper wire for shielding and high-purity copper wire for signal lines to adjust the tonal character. This combination achieves tuning focused on spatial expansion and a sense of distance from the sound.

High-Rigidity Housing and Metal Schematic Design

The Typ930 continues the Typ821's use of titanium as the housing material, a metal notoriously difficult to machine. Titanium is a highly biocompatible metal that offers exceptional rigidity while remaining relatively lightweight. While ideal for earphone materials, its hardness makes it notoriously difficult to machine with precision.
For this model, the housing was designed by engineers with deep expertise in metalworking, having handled cutting tools for high-end Swiss and Japanese watches and German automobiles. The housings are manufactured by machining titanium blocks using powerful, high-precision multi-axis CNC machines.
At MADOO, we believe housing rigidity is essential to fully unleash the driver unit's potential and directly impacts sound quality. Therefore, we made no compromises in finish for sound quality, implementing sandblasting to impart surface hardness and designing the shell thickness to be significantly greater than typical earphones. It boasts exceptionally high rigidity even among MADOO's lineup, creating a housing that fully unleashes the potential of “Ortho Dual Motion”. Components used in the housing are CNC-machined from pure titanium, and the structure features a co-fastening design for the upper and lower housings, enhancing overall rigidity. This ensures sufficient rigidity against speaker resonance, contributing to sound quality.
Furthermore, to enhance reliability and deliver maximum performance, we continue to employ our proprietary housing architecture, “MIAA: MADOO In-ear Acoustic Architecture.”
The ‘Typ930’ builds upon improvements over the previous model's 3D-printed construction. Through precise CNC machining, the acoustic box housing the driver has been integrated directly into the housing itself.

A design concept inspired by the view from the window

The design concept for this model draws inspiration from the night sky and moon visible through the window, as well as the waves of the sea.

The blue anodized titanium ornament inside represents the night sky, while the planar dynamic driver symbolizes the moon, expressing this worldview. The housing is designed with a central circle evoking the image of waves rising, expressing the power of the ocean's waves.

Newly Developed Cable Featuring “PCUHD®”

For the ‘Typ930’, we have newly developed a cable utilizing Furukawa Electric's “PCUHD®” as the core wire.

PCUHD® (Pure Copper Ultra High Drawability) is an oxygen-free copper material cast through a process that strictly controls the inclusion of impurities and contaminants by using carefully selected raw materials. Its key feature is the minimization of voids (air bubbles) and oxides within the material, which inhibit electrical signal transmission, achieved by suppressing the oxygen content.

We selected PCUHD® not only for its material purity but also because it minimizes the generation of impurities like air bubbles and oxidation products within the core wire during cable manufacturing. This cable exhibits a sound characterization characterized by stable mid-to-low frequencies, a grounded feel, and rich texture. It is constructed by twisting two cables, each consisting of seven cores, into a single cable.

MDX30

Eartips

The ‘Typ930’ includes the MADOO ear tips “MDX30” in the main package for the first time, which were previously sold separately. The “MDX30” features a dedicated design optimized for the elliptical nozzle structure common to MADOO products, achieving both comfortable fit and acoustic performance. Three sizes—S, M, and L—are included to provide the optimal fit tailored to the user's ear shape.

Additionally, the package includes traditional round silicone ear tips, allowing users to choose their preferred fit and further enhance the appeal of the earphones themselves.
